Originally, I just wanted to play a few levels before going to bed, but when I looked up, it was almost dawn. This game is really suitable for late at night. The painting style is as gentle as the moonlight shining on the screen, and the music is like a symphony. Listening to it with headphones is like being wrapped in a thick blanket. It is so comfortable that you don't want to stop at all.
To be honest, I was deceived by the style of the game at first, thinking it was a casual and liver-nurturing game, but as soon as the plot unfolded, I was completely sucked into it. There are grievances and entanglements among the six races in the Taiti continent. Each character has his own past. I originally thought, "I'll just look at the vertical painting." But now I have even read the NPC's lines line by line. Especially late at night when people are quiet, those dialogues seem to be drilled directly into my mind. I would think it was a bit half-hearted when I read it in the morning, but in the early morning I felt that every sentence was heart-wrenching.
The combat system is also very interesting. It's not a mindless one. You need to use your brains to coordinate your team. In order to pass a certain hidden level tonight, I changed several lineups. In the end, I used black position and gold position to grind through. My palms were sweaty after playing. The thought of "trying it again" is really poisonous. Every time I say I will go to sleep after finishing this level, but a new plot opens in the next level...and then I sit back again.
Moreover, there are really many characters in this game, more than thirty, and each one has its own personality. I like the white-haired swordsman the most right now. He is so handsome when fighting and his voice is so soothing. Every time he zooms in on a move, I have to pause to listen to him finish his line and then giggle. It's really easy to get emotional when playing games late at night. Even though they are just pixelated people, I feel like they are accompanying me like real friends.
Oh, yes, the operation is also very conscientious, and there is no feeling of being forced to spend money. People like me who don't spend money can still have fun by slowly saving up. I just don't have enough physical strength. I often run out of energy in the middle of a game. I can only stare at the level list in a daze, and then start flipping through the character illustration to read the story. I feel completely sleepless while looking at it... but that's what happened tonight.
Let's not talk about it anymore, it's almost dawn and I have to quickly draw the curtains. But I know I will definitely open it tomorrow night, after all, there is still a branch line that has not been completed. Staying up late playing "The Story of All Things" is really addictive, but if you also like games that tell stories quietly, you can really give it a try. I wish I could go to bed early tonight...but it's probably going to be difficult 😴🌙
