Let me make it clear first, you all know my bad habits as a stand-alone hunter: I don't want to draw cards with krypton gold, and I will take a detour when I see “first charge” and “monthly card”. So when I first saw the name "Mission of War", and it was still carrying the banner of "0.1's first interactive second game", I thought, isn't this just another attempt to deceive the fat house in the second dimension and change its skin? But I am just idle today. I thought it would be nice to enter the game and curse a few words. It doesn't cost any money anyway.
The result really surprised me.
This game is indeed an online game, with camps, teams, and daily tasks, but to be honest, its placement gameplay is comparable to my usual single-player experience. How should I put it, it is the point of "play and stop", and it does it. Yesterday, I hung up in the middle of the game to cook instant noodles. When I came back, my character was still there silently fighting monsters, and I also collected supplies. As a person who is used to playing Sekiro and Souls, I suddenly felt the kindness of "This crappy game doesn't force me to go to work."
Let's talk about the biggest difference between stand-alone and online games. Stand-alone games are "I control the rhythm". The world of the game is created for me. When I am tired, I save the game and shut it down. When I am happy and drive it back one day, the map is still the same and the NPCs are still waiting for me in the same place. And most online games, especially those with forced social interaction, guild battles, limited-time activities, and one-stop daily activities, are really more tiring than going to work. I spend money and time, but in the end I am played by the game. What about this game? It feels like a stand-alone game, but it also has the feeling of live interaction like an online game, although I turn off the chat bar most of the time because I am too lazy to type. But it doesn't force you to speak or form a team. I think many online games should learn from this.
Of course, it would be false to say that it has no flaws. As for its "interaction", everyone knows it. It's a routine of giving you several girl characters to "deepen your relationship" with you. I originally wanted to roll my eyes, but after taking a closer look, I saw that the vertical painting was really impressive. I watched one of the characters' charging movements ten times. You may say this is unsatisfactory, but it was indeed done with care. As for the plot, it's about the end of the world and saving the world. The copywriting shows the hard work. Although it's not a masterpiece, it's much better than the punch-in plot that I expected with just “Commander-sama”.
Anyway, as an old stubborn person like me who is full of prejudice against online games, it can be said that it relies on the following points: "It doesn't force me, it doesn't socialize, it doesn't bother me, it doesn't make me happy", it just makes me happy. If you are like me and have been disgusted by domestic mobile games, you can come down and play it as a small app for collecting food. You can click on it when you are free and leave it if you don't want to play. It is really not a loss. As for recharging money? People with zero yuan can also play quite comfortably. I won't top up a penny anyway.
Finally, I would like to say something to those brothers who still firmly believe that "games must be AAA masterpieces to be considered dignified as a stand-alone game": Don't be in a hurry to spray it without thinking. This thing is suitable for being placed in your mobile phone as a small drawer that can be opened occasionally. Just like I have a bunch of hardcore single-player games at home, but I still open this game before going to bed, take a look at the girls, and then turn it off when I feel sleepy. Comfortable, not irritating, but also quite practical. 😌
