When I opened "Tower Defense Era", I was actually quite hesitant. After all, there have been a lot of remakes of mobile games in recent years, and most of them just use an IP to deceive people. But after playing for a night, hey, I was really a little bit crazy. 😄
I still remember the days when I played "Pixel Monster Tower Defense" on the PSP. The little monsters rushed over in groups. I was hurriedly upgrading the turrets, and my palms became sweaty after playing three levels in a row. At that time, there was no automatic combat or offline benefits. You had to keep an eye on the trajectory of each bullet. If a turret was misplaced, the whole game would collapse. Now "Tower Defense Era" has made tower defense a place-based game. The heroes can fight on their own. I just need to click on the skills occasionally. It's easy, but I always feel that the breath-holding tension is missing.
But when it comes to reproduction and innovation, Tower Defense Era has indeed achieved what a modern mobile game should be. There are more than a hundred superheroes, such as space warriors, shadow assassins, mechanics... Each camp also restrains each other, and they work together like they are forming their own dream team. The picture definitely beats the pixel art style of the GBA back then, the special effects of the skills exploded, and the screen was filled with light pollution when the ultimate move was activated. To be honest, it was pretty cool. 🎮
But there is always a hurdle in the mind of old players: when playing tower defense on the NDS, the map terrain, corner paths, slowdown and splashing all depended on the brain to remember. Now "Tower Defense Era" has automatic formation recommendations, you can skip battles, and you can even hang up offline to get resources. Convenience is convenience, but what about the sense of accomplishment of "holding the line of defense with one hand and one foot"? Sometimes I wonder if the manufacturer can create a "nostalgic mode" that turns off placement, so that heroes have to manually place skills and manually adjust their positions. Even if it is a little more difficult, we are willing to do it. 😭
Of course, times have changed. Nowadays, everyone is busy with work and has no time to stare at the screen all the time. Tower Defense Era turns strategic depth into hero development and numerical matching. It is essentially a test of the brain, but in a different way. And its hero pool is really deep. I drew a character that was restrained by the Goddess of Death, which directly changed my formation ideas. Isn't this the joy of studying turret combinations back then? Youth is back! 😆
In short, "Tower Defense Era" is a modern replica-oriented tower defense mobile game, I think it is worth a try. Don't compare it with the feeling of chewing snacks and holding the controller back then. After all, we have grown up and so have the games. But if you are like me, and occasionally want to get back the excitement of planning a defense line and repelling the enemy tide, you might as well go in and create an account, maybe it will be really fun. 👍
Okay, no more talking, I will go online to collect a batch of idle resources. If anyone wants to study hero matching together, please see me in the comment area! 🕹️
