Screen: 7.5/10
To be honest, at first I was a little wary of the idea of "inheriting the classic art style". After all, many old IP resets are just skinning and cutting leeks. But after entering the game, the cuteness of Zi Q really brought back memories. The character modeling is round and cute, the scenes are brightly colored, and the boss design is naive but still oppressive. It's not a rough pixel reproduction, but a "high-definition retro" with modern light and shadow processing, which is very pleasing in look and feel. The picture is not top-notch, but it is better in that the style is unified and looks comfortable.
Gameplay: 8/10
Here comes the point. The gameplay of hanging up and absorbing monsters was a god-level setting back then, but it is still so awesome now. Different from the pure numerical value jumps in many current idle games, Adventure King 3OL has made "absorbing monsters" into a visual and refreshing feedback. A bunch of monsters are pulled over by a tornado and explode into equipment. The instant gratification is really decompressing. Moreover, it does not make the system too complicated, with daily tasks, dungeons, and equipment creation. The cost of getting started is low, but the depth is enough for you to study for a while. Especially for the setting of "Q Cute Boss is covered in magical costumes", the drop rate is not stingy, and there is hope in playing it, and it will not make people feel like they are in jail.
Krypton Gold: 9/10
The charging mode of this game is 0, which means it is free to download. I paid special attention to the in-app purchases. The mall mainly sells appearance, fashion and some convenience props, but does not sell numerical core equipment. In terms of fashion, the official said there are thousands of combinations. In actual experience, you can indeed obtain them through daily activities and copy output. It is not the kind of forced krypton routine of "you can only wear newbie clothes without recharging money". For civilian players, the equipment and resources can keep up with the large army during daily play, which is quite rare in similar mobile games. Of course, it will definitely take time or money to graduate quickly, but at least it gives free players a way to survive.
Social: 7/10
As an OL, you can team up to defeat bosses, fight in guilds, and brag about the world channel, but the social depth is average and it is more like a "stand-alone game that you can play together." But the good thing is that when you hang up, you can see other players running around, and occasionally form a team and chat with each other without feeling like you are in a dead server. For a social-phobic player like me, this kind of light social interaction is more comfortable.
So, why is it so popular? I think the core is just one word: cool. The instant feedback of hanging up and absorbing monsters, coupled with the freedom of dressing up brought by free fashions, allows players to continue to receive positive feedback in fragmented time. It does not blindly follow the daily burden of those heavy MMOs, but balances "relaxation" and "refreshing".
Of course, it also has hidden dangers. For example, the content in the later period is highly repetitive, and some players may be lost after the novelty wears off; server optimization may occasionally cause lags, and these are points deduction items. But at least for now, Adventure King 3OL has found a group of players who miss the idle era, and has retained this feeling. If you have been short of games recently and don't want to get too excited, you can give it a try. My personal rating: 7.8/10, worth playing. 😎
