Two days ago, I saw someone on the forum asking how game ratings are calculated. I happened to be playing "Ball Heroes" recently, so let me use this game to talk about my rating criteria. After all, as an evaluator, I never rely on feelings or manufacturer recharges when scoring, but only on a few hard dimensions.
In terms of graphics, "Ball Hero" follows the Q version of the cute route. The ball has a round shape and the skill special effects are fancy, but to be honest, it is not amazing. The UI interface is relatively simple. During the battle, the screen is full of balls rolling around, and the recognition is okay. On a full scale of 10 points, I would give the screen a 7, with no points deducted or points added. It's the kind that “looks comfortable but won't take a screenshot to use as wallpaper.”
Gameplay is the core of this game. Tower defense + competition essentially means that both sides place the ball and fight for output and control. However, the beauty is that the balls in each game are randomly synthesized, so "luck" accounts for a large proportion. If you draw good attacking balls in the early stage, you will have a smooth start; if you are in trouble, all the auxiliary balls will be used, which is really difficult to save. However, this kind of randomness also brings excitement. Every synthesis has an element of gambling. Brainpower is reflected in the choice of positioning and star promotion, and luck is reflected in the probability of brushing the ball. The combination of the two is really exciting. I gave the gameplay 8 points, and the two points I lost are because balance can occasionally raise blood pressure. For example, some legendary balls are gods of war in the opponent's hands, and actors in your own hands.
In terms of krypton gold, "Ball Heroes" is free to download, and there must be in-app purchases, but to be honest, you can play it with zero krypton, but the growth is slow. Arena matching will rank you with people with similar combat power, so you won't be pushed to the ground by the wealthy. But in the later stage, if you want to climb the rankings, it will be difficult if you don't have krypton or carelessness. My scoring criteria are: Krypton gold is not mandatory but affects the experience, so I give it 6 points. It's acceptable, but I hope the planning won't widen the numerical gap too much.
In terms of social interaction, this game has team and friend collaboration modes, where you can play cooperative levels together or donate physical energy to each other. However, the chat system is relatively rudimentary, basically communicating with expressions such as "asking for the ball" and "thank you", and deep social interaction is not possible. According to my standards, I give it a score of 6.5, which is above passing. It is suitable for bringing friends together to play black games, but don't expect to be successful in it.
To sum it up, my score for "Heroes of the Ball" is about 7 points. It's not a masterpiece, but it's easy and interesting. It only lasts a few minutes, so it's suitable for fishing in spare time. And it made me rethink the scoring criteria: whether a game is fun or not, sometimes it really doesn't depend on how exquisite the picture is or how grand the plot is, but the urge to “play one more game”. Ball Hero does just that.
So when you rate the game, you might as well look at it in different dimensions. Don't give it one star just because a certain draw card sinks the ship, and don't brag about it because the benefits of opening the server are good. If we are objective, the game will be better, and we understand it when we play. Last but not least, this game is awesome, but remember to set an alarm to prevent addiction 😂
