Who in the family understands? This afternoon I was squatting at my workstation fishing, my phone was hidden under the keyboard, and my fingers were jumping wildly left and right on the screen - yes, it was Temple Run 2. This game is really too addictive. I know that I may hit the wall in the next second, but I just can't stop. The illusion of "you can get gold coins if you run one more step" is more real than waiting for my salary at the end of the month.
And guess what? I was running vigorously when I suddenly heard the familiar sound of "clinking" gold coins coming from the next cubicle. I was stunned on the spot. Why did this rhythm and sound effects sound more and more like the level I was running in? I held my breath and quietly turned down the volume on my phone, but the person next door's “Game Over” music played louder than me.
I coughed tentatively, and there was silence for three seconds. Then the boss's deep voice came: "Xiao Zhang, are you running level 47 too?"
At that moment I almost dropped my phone into the toilet. Later, we met each other across the partition. It turned out that the boss said "going out to eat" at noon every day, but he was actually squatting in the car and running to the temple to escape. He also secretly showed off to me that he had saved 2 million gold coins, saying that it made him feel more accomplished than the project bonus🙃
Now my boss and I have become "running buddies". We meet in the tea room at three o'clock every afternoon, pretending to receive water, but actually exchanging parkour experiences. Colleagues thought we were secretly discussing some big project, but in fact we were discussing "how to skip the pit with three consecutive turns" and "what time does it take to refresh the prop shop?"
To be honest, Temple Run 2 is a game that is perfect for us as workers. A game only lasts a few minutes, and it's easy to die. There's no need to save energy, form a team, or socialize with others. Stop when you are tired and score as many points as you want, no need to use your brain at all. And it's particularly stress-relieving - look at the character being chased by demons, it looks a lot like me being chased by Party A to change my needs😭 But in the game, you can still pick up gold coins while running, and I only earn a salary if I break my leg, ugh.
The funniest thing is that I now find that at least five of my colleagues are playing. During the lunch break, everyone sat together, ostensibly scrolling through their phones, but in fact the faces on the screen were all the same character. Yesterday, the new intern asked me, "Sister, do you know how to unlock new characters in Temple Run 2?" Before I could say anything, the big brother from the design department next to me directly answered, "Charge money, or run 100,000 meters." The intern was scared that we were an underground organization in Temple Run 2.
In short, fellow fishermen, if your boss is away, you have nothing to do, and you don't want to do anything serious, you can really try Temple Escape 2. It will not let you down, just like the saying in the game - as long as you persevere, you will eventually reach the other side of victory. Although my "other shore" is to finish editing the PPT before work today, at least I have run 8,000 meters in the game, haha.
One final reminder: remember to turn on mute when playing, otherwise the boss's “Game Over” and your “Game Over” will sound in the conference room at the same time. That scene is simply more exciting than the devil chasing people in the game🔥
