Posting a game review in a movie and TV fan zone may be a bit cross-border, but since this game is called "The Legend of the Rich Gods", and it involves all the gods from the "Fengshen List" to engage in real estate and resell specialties, I think it is still worthy of competing with similar products. After all, there are many mobile games on the market under the banner of "Monopoly", but not many of them can really make me play.
Let's talk about apples-to-apples comparison first. I compared it with games with card strategies such as "Monopoly 9", "Gold Miner Adventure" (although it is not pure Monopoly) and "Yixian Pai". In terms of graphics, "The Legend of the Gods" adopts the Q version of the Chinese style, and the vertical character drawings are pleasing to the eye, but the precision is not as good as the ink texture of "The Legend of Yixian", and it is a bit flater than the 3D scenes of "Monopoly 9". I can only say that it's quite satisfactory, not a drag, but it didn't surprise me either.
In terms of gameplay, its smartest point is the combination of "Monopoly + Cards" rather than hard stitching. Throwing dice to move the grid, buying land to build buildings, and paying tolls are all retained. However, the card system is not a simple drawing of cards to accumulate combat power. Instead, each general card corresponds to a different special skill. For example, Yang Jian allows you to steal a land deed from your opponent during PK, and Daji can charm the opponent to skip the turn. This design achieves a delicate balance between luck and strategic depth. It is not as life-or-death as pure Monopoly, nor is it as brain-burning as card battles. Moreover, it has a cycle of "reselling specialties", buying low and selling high among the five main cities, combined with dice step planning, which is a bit like a business war simulation. It is more interesting to play than the mindless land buying in "Monopoly 9".
In terms of krypton gold, this is what I want to praise and criticize most. The charging mode mark is 0, which means free download, but there must be in-app purchases. Fortunately, it provides free ways to get cards through Wenwang Temple's lottery and Juxianzhuang recruitment, and the probability is not outrageous. I played for two days without any money and managed to put together an explosive combination of Tongtian Cult Leader + Zhao Gongming. Compared with the experience of "Monopoly 9" where you were tortured into a dog by the real estate industry overlord without any money, "The Legend of the Rich and the Gods" can be regarded as a conscience. But don't be too happy too early. Star-upgrading materials and exclusive equipment for high-end cards in the later stage will obviously require a lot of energy or krypton. If ordinary players want to reach the top three in the rankings, they basically have to rely on time.
The social part is relatively restrained. There is no forced team formation, but there is asynchronous PVP, that is, you look at the opponent's layout and then challenge his shadow, and if you win, you can grab some resources. There is also a chamber of commerce system where you can resell specialties together to earn the price difference. Unlike some social games where you have to call someone to open a room, I like this. After all, I am the kind of person who likes to make a fortune alone when playing Monopoly.
Overall rating: I give it 8/10 points. Deduct one point for the details of the picture, and deduct another point for the somewhat obvious sharpness in the later stage. If you like the theme of apotheosis, are fed up with the monotonous dice rolling in Monopoly, or are tired of card battles, this game is worth a try. It doesn't subvert anything, but in the segmented track of "Monopoly + Cards", it does a better job than most products of the same type. At least I was really enjoying it when I was reselling Chentangguan specialties to seize Shen Gongbao's territory. 😏
