Objectively speaking, music and dance games have been a bit out of date in recent years. Old-brand products are supported by emotions, while most new games have changed their skins. The update of the April version of "National Music and Dance" is quite intensive this time. I specially compared similar games horizontally and came to the conclusion directly: there are surprises, but the shortcomings are also obvious.
In terms of screen dimensions, "Music for All" follows a bright two-dimensional route. The character modeling is much more refined than that of the early "QQ Dance", and the costume materials have improved, but there is still a gap compared with the high-precision textures of the "Audition" PC game. Especially the UI interface, although the picture book entrance has been redone, the layout information density is relatively high, making it easy for novices to be confused. In comparison, "Just Dance" has a stronger immersive stage atmosphere, but it is a purely physical game, so I won't say much about the different tracks.
In terms of gameplay, the core selling point this time is “pictorial collection + costume change scoring”. To be honest, this design is very clever, tying together collection addiction and social wear. Compared with the pure value accumulation of "QQ Dance", "National Music and Dance" at least gives players room to use their "matching strategies" - if you wear a set of unpopular high-end clothes, your score may not be as good as a set of low-end but high-theme matching. This counter-intuitive design tests aesthetics. But here's the problem: the outfit rating system has just been launched, and the balance has obviously not been adjusted well. The attributes of some five-star suits have been crushed, causing the “score” to become a “krypton gold detector.” This was also the case in "Audition" back then, but at least it left room for civilian players to compete with technical players. The judgment of "Music for All" is a bit soft, the disconnection penalty is not high, and the technical content is low.
The krypton gold dimension is the hardest hit area. Although the game is shown as "free", the VIP level has been opened to a new level, and the top of the illustrated collection ranking list is basically exclusive to heavy players. I horizontally compared the cost-effectiveness of monthly passes for three games of the same type. The price of the limited-edition appearance of National Music and Dance is exaggerated. A complete set of themed illustrations costs about 2,000, while the guarantee mechanism of "QQ Dance" is relatively transparent. What's even more subtle is that the "source guide" function of the new illustrated book actually gives priority to recommending recharge entrances instead of ways to obtain guides. This is not a good look.
In terms of social interaction, the highlight of the gameplay of "National Music and Dance" is "co-building of dance groups + picture book display". You can put the collected suits into your personal space, which is more showy than the pure dance social of "Audition". However, the depth of social interaction is not enough, and the chat system is still in the old-fashioned room mode. Compared with the cross-region and same-city matching of "QQ Dance", the social efficiency of strangers in "National Music and Dance" is low, and it is more like a party for acquaintances.
Finally, let's talk about the conclusion. The April version of "National Music and Dance" has made differences in the "collection drive", which is especially suitable for casual players who like to wear clothes and develop a sense of development. But if you are pursuing hard-core operation or fair competition, it does not feel as solid as "Audition"; if you care about the content volume, its gameplay is fresher than "QQ Dance", but it loses in polishing the details. My rating: 7 points for graphics, 6.5 points for gameplay, 4 points for gold, 6 points for social interaction, and an overall 5.8 points. It belongs to the category of "you can test the waters but don't get too involved". I can see that the official is looking for changes, but I hope that the numerical expansion of the scoring system will be fixed first during the next maintenance. 🕹️
