To be honest, I haven't encountered a puzzle game that is so suitable for playing at night in a long time. "Escape Room Desperate Series 11 Amusement Park" was originally intended to kill time, but as soon as I played it I couldn't stop playing it.
It's really fun to play this at night. The amusement park is a busy place during the day, but at night only the neon lights are still on. The empty atmosphere in the game, coupled with the occasional sound of a mechanism turning, was obviously a very simple puzzle to solve, but it made me feel numb from playing it. 😶
The plot is also simple. A little boy got separated from his parents in an amusement park, and you have to help him find his way back. But it's this setting that makes me more and more fascinated as I play. Late at night is when I have the most thoughts. I huddled under the quilt alone, watching the little boy looking around in the deserted park, thinking about his parents... I felt a little sore in the nose for no reason. He's obviously just a little pixelated person, but why did he make me so entranced?
The level design is also quite thoughtful. It's not the type that's purely brain-burning and hard to persuade you to quit, but it's the type that feels like you're slowly pondering and moving forward bit by bit. It's very suitable for playing quietly late at night. It doesn't matter if your mind is spinning a little slower. It's not in a hurry anyway. Some of the puzzles are quite interesting, and the instant pleasure you get when you solve them is similar to the feeling of staying up late to win three games in a row, haha. 🎮
My favorite is the carousel section, the atmosphere is particularly well rendered. It looks childish and romantic during the day, but at night it's indescribably weird, but not scary. It's that feeling where you know it's a tender little game, but you still subconsciously retract your feet into the quilt. 🥺
I was quite emotional after playing it. Thinking about when I went to an amusement park when I was a child, it seemed like the same thing. As soon as I saw something fun, I would run away without caring about my parents shouting behind me. Now that I have grown up, I am particularly irresistible to such tender little stories. Especially when you finish playing in the middle of the night, the feeling of missing your family will be particularly strong.
