As an old player who has been playing online games for more than ten years, every time I give a rating, I am actually competing with myself. Today, in response to everyone's request, I will talk about the game "Prophecy World", and by the way, I will share my own scoring standards. It is just a personal opinion and is for reference only.
My scoring system is very simple: picture/gameplay/money/social interaction, with 25 points in each of the four dimensions, and a full score of 100. It's not that a particularly high-end artistic style can be called a good picture, but whether it meets the positioning of the game and audience expectations. "Prophecy World" is a port of a 2.5D PC game. When running on a mobile phone, it does not feel like a cheap transplant. The character modeling and scene coloring retain the atmosphere of the passionate world ten years ago. But I must say that even with the addition of light and shadow processing, there is still a generation gap compared to the current mainstream new games. After all, authenticity sometimes means that your art assets can be directly rendered with the preset shader in the Unity engine and then put online... I will give this aspect 17 points. The sentiment is worth the price, but objectively speaking it is not refined enough.
The gameplay part does have something to it. The design of anger transformation is very interesting. The visual impact of the transformation after accumulating anger during the battle and the switching of skills between the two systems make the battle rhythm very interesting. It will not stand still for a long time like many idle games. The publicity about conquering cities and conquering territory and having thousands of people on the same server is true. When fighting for the boss in the wild, my phone would indeed freeze, but when I think about the hundreds of living people standing next to me, the excitement is real. However, the problem is also obvious. The game is not particularly friendly to individual players. The distribution of resources and equipment drops are basically tilted towards large guilds. Office workers who occasionally go online cannot find the opportunity to organize competition. In addition, the automatic pathfinding and idle system are not particularly smart, and some tasks often require manual clicking. During the test, I fell asleep several times while playing... I give it 18 points for the gameplay dimension.
I want to say a few more words about krypton gold. The charging mode is written with "0", but don't think that you can really play at zero cost. People who understand this will understand. It is advertised as not being too expensive, but in actual experience it is indeed much gentler than some web games. The stuff that comes with the first deposit is quite practical, and it is unlikely that it will be crushed to the point where it is completely untenable without spending money. But to be honest, as long as you don't invest enough time, even if you train zero krypton carefully, you will still be far behind the middle and low krypton players. Most of the old players have the financial means to play games with this kind of old IP, and the officials obviously know where to dig their wallets. My rating is 16 points. It's not a scam but don't expect to be too conscientious.
The social dimension is probably the biggest plus point of this game. It is very likely that old comrades from the end game period ten years ago will reunite here. I have seen several servers where guilds promote posts such as "the old people from such and such a district have come back to gather together." This kind of cohesion bound by emotions cannot be learned in new games nowadays. Coupled with the basics of traditional social gameplay such as siege warfare, gang missions, and team dungeons, the chat channel is quite lively and the atmosphere is full. However, for pure newcomers, the relationship network of the old gang is actually quite closed, and when you first join, you will feel like you can't fit in. I give it 20 points.
The overall score is about 67, and considering the emotional bonus, it can barely reach around 70. If you played the PC game "Prophecy" ten years ago, then this mobile game will indeed find something that will make you cry; if you are a new player who is attracted by your friends, I advise you to first think clearly about whether you can accept this kind of social ecology and gameplay rhythm with the atmosphere of the old era.
It's purely subjective. Don't argue. If you argue, you are right. Anyway, I never give emotional points when evaluating, but this time, I admit that I may not be objective enough. 😌
