To be honest, as an old player who has played all the way from the Saipan era, I am quite touched by the recent changes in the mobile game market. I saw news a while ago that the number of domestic mobile game users has exceeded 660 million, but the number of downloads per capita is declining, and everyone is becoming more and more picky. This is a good thing if you don't want to brag about it. Shoddy skin-changing games should indeed be eliminated.
Back to the topic, I recently played a game called "Mirror Story". I originally went to check it out for the 0.05% discount, but I was a little surprised. To be honest, this kind of dark fairy tale theme is not new, but it is indeed rare to see such a complete subversion of Snow White and the dwarfs, and to make me, an experienced player, want to collect them.
From my observation of the current game trends, there are several obvious points. First, everyone is tired and doesn't want to work until three in the morning, so the built-in accelerator and idle system have almost become standard features. "Mirror Story" directly makes ten times acceleration and offline income into basic functions, plus a load-reducing assistant, which tells me openly and honestly, "Don't fight to death, it's time to go to work, and it's time to sleep." To be honest, this kind of design concept would have been unthinkable five years ago, but now, it has become a necessity for middle-aged players like us.
Second, the concept of "no waste cards" is particularly popular now. In the past, when playing card games, if you drew an unpopular character, you could only win at the bottom of the box. Now, in "Mirror Story," every character has his or her own place, relying on attributes and skill restraints to coordinate. I can build a non-mainstream lineup according to my own understanding, and will not be pressed to the ground and rubbed by the big guys. This kind of design can indeed make civilian players like me willing to play. No, I should say that I am willing to play.
Third, the manufacturers have finally figured it out. Instead of creating a bunch of complex social systems to force you to form a team, it is better to let you quietly push pictures and watch the plot. The subversive and reversal of the fairy tale storyline in the game is quite to my liking. Who says you can't dream of fairy tales when you grow up? It's just a dream now. I like the dark fairy tale version better.
Having said that, I have been playing for more than two weeks, and suddenly I remembered the days when I used Nokia to play Snake. At that time, I could not have imagined that mobile games have evolved to this extent. Although the classic games of that era are not easy to surpass, I am still very pleased to see that today's mobile games are increasingly understanding the needs of players. After all, the youth of our generation also grew up with the game industry. 😂
