Back then, there was nothing as satisfying as what we have now! I remember in the '90s at the arcade, spending two bucks to play "Narc", swinging a steel pipe to smash car windows, and before I could hit much, the boss came over and patted me on the shoulder: "Hey kid, that's enough, you've already dented the glass. Do you want me to keep doing business?" 😅

Now it's great—this "Room Destruction Simulator" lets you go all out. If the stick isn't enough, you switch to a gun; if the gun isn't satisfying, you go for a sniper rifle. You can tear apart the whole room however you want, even the load-bearing walls are fully accounted for. Last night I played until midnight, smashed my living room sofa to pieces, and then took down the chandelier with a sniper rifle. That kind of satisfaction is way more relieving than sneaking around smashing stuff in the arcade back in the day!

Honestly though, destruction games do have a sort of heritage. Back in the day on PC, there was "Postal" (or was it "Cannon Fodder"? No, "Carmageddon" perhaps? Never mind, that doesn't count). The real deal would be "Red Faction", back then you could blow up buildings with explosives, and the physics engine was amazing, bricks flying one by one. Unfortunately, computers back then were weak, so blowing up a building was like a slideshow, nothing like now where you can swipe on your phone and experience full-on room demolition. The tech progress really makes old players nostalgic.

And this game is clever too—it's not just mindless smashing, it also has a bit of a stress-relief rhythm. Listen to the glass shattering, that crisp "crack" sound is more therapeutic than eating chips. The dull snap of the wood breaking is reminiscent of the sound when you take down the enemy base in the old FC game "Battle City". The developers say they're from Hainan—I suspect maybe the programmers were frustrated from overtime coding every day, so they made something to let everyone vent. Hahaha!

Most importantly, this game is actually free, 100% free! Back in the day, we had to hide from city inspectors for playing pirated discs, now they just give it to you to vent! I've already uninstalled three lifestyle apps to make space for it. Don't just listen to me—if you're feeling stressed and have nowhere to vent, go get it and try it out. Smash your room, and then look at that eyesore coffee table at home—doesn't it suddenly look kind of cute? 😏
