First, the conclusion: This is a Western-style turn-based RPG. It looks like an old-school game, but the depth of development is more hardcore than you might imagine. I reached the end of the main storyline on the third day of the server launch without spending money, and ranked in the top 50 in the arena. The key is not to fall into the early pitfalls I encountered.

Don't rush the story at the start; first, get the initial three-piece set: The protagonist should learn “Combo Slash,” which is your only single-target burst in the early to mid-game; do not discard the system-given owl—it comes with the “Wind Blade” skill, which can be combined with the protagonist to control two targets, making it more useful than many rare pets in the early game; the third thing is to go to the lower-left corner of the main city to find the blacksmith and accept the “Rusty Iron Sword” quest—the level 5 blue equipment given will last until level 15.

When you can enter the “Mist Forest” map, pay attention to the small path in the upper-left corner, where a hidden “Time Element” can be found. This pet has the second-highest growth rate in the game and comes with a passive skill “Time Distortion”—each turn has a 15% chance to act an extra time. You don't need a high-level capture item; just use Sleep + a normal capture net, and you can catch it within about six tries. With this pet, all single-target bosses later can be defeated with a “double-action burst.”

There is a specific order for progressing through maps—don't follow the map sequence. Go to the “Twilight Ruins” first and reach the 3rd layer to farm the “Thief Gloves” (+5% crit rate) and the “Ambush Skill Book,” then go back to clear lower-level maps. Here's a mechanic: skill book drops are fixed per map, but the drop rate is linked to your level. On maps 5 levels lower than your current level, the drop rate doubles. So when stuck, don't just fight—it's better to farm a couple of skill books and come back to overwhelm the challenge.

Regarding stats and equipment, do not evenly distribute points. For damage, 4 Strength + 1 Vitality; for tanking, 4 Vitality + 1 Agility; for the healer, all focus on Spirit. Don't just look at equipment score—check the extra attributes. Crit, combo effects > attack > speed > defense. After upgrading weapons to level 6, the cost-effectiveness drops significantly, so it's better to upgrade defensive gear to level 4; after all, surviving longer in a turn-based game is what allows you to deal damage.

Recommended pet lineup: Time Element as the main damage dealer, the owl stacked with speed and using “Wind Wall” (damage reduction ultimate), and a water-type turtle—the NPC for fishing in the main city will give it when affinity reaches 20. It's extremely tanky, and its taunt skill has no turn limit, so it can continuously protect your damage dealer from dying. This combination can basically withstand two enemy ultimate skills in the early game. Here's a little tip for the arena: For the first 5 challenges each day, you get double points, but if you win against someone ranked below you, you only get 5 points. If you want to quickly climb the ranks, upgrade your main skills to the level where you can defeat same-level monsters in one hit, and then specifically target opponents whose average equipment score is 300 points lower than yours to farm consecutive wins. Consecutive win rewards are plentiful and can unlock the qualification to buy discounted 'Double Experience Potions' in the shop, which in the early game can save you half a day's progress with just one potion.

Lastly, something many people overlook: In the home system, don't plant experience-boosting crops. Plant 'First Aid Herbs' and 'Mana Flowers', craft them into ointments, and list them on the auction house. Early on, it's a seller's market, and one set can sell for 500 gold. I used the income from selling these materials to buy all the skill books I needed, making my progress a full chapter ahead of others.

That's about it. This game is hardcore but fair, and each stage has solutions that fit your budget. If you have questions, just ask in the thread, and I'll reply if I see them. Wishing everyone an early clear and a 'Master of Time' title—see you in the arena later. 👋
