I usually play some cute-styled mini-games, like pet dressing up and farming~ Today, a friend told me there's a game called "Speed Racing" that's very thrilling and suggested I try it. I thought, since it's a racing game, it should feel a bit cool and stylish, right? But when I opened that interface, I was completely stunned...
How should I put it, it's the color scheme of the main interface, the saturation is so so high, red and blue clashing together, it's just like the plastic posters they put up during Chinese New Year 😣 And those buttons, super big and super sturdy, with that brushed metal texture on the edges, and when you press them there's a bang bang bang effect, it startled me!
Entering the garage interface feels even worse. Rows of race cars are lined up there, with a dark industrial-style background. The lighting is dim, and there are greasy reflections everywhere... I originally wanted to see if there were any cute little sports cars, but every car has a fierce, 'intimidating' face, and the headlights seem to be glaring at me 😭
Even the map for stage selection looks so ugly, just a yellow-ish landmass with a few curves marked on it, like Nevada Desert or Tokyo streets. It doesn't look like a travel promo at all; it's more like the high-temperature warning map from the weather forecast my mom watches 🌡️ I was actually expecting a bit of cherry blossoms, neon lights, and that kind of romantic scene when I clicked in, but it's all asphalt roads and guardrails. Too hardcore!
I just want to find a game with beautiful visuals and a soft interface. There are so many luxury cars in 'Fast Racing'—could they hire an artist to make the interface look nicer? At least use gentler colors, round buttons, and not so many metal and flame effects... I probably played for two minutes and quit. I'd better go back and change my little cat's dress 🐱.
But it's purely a matter of personal taste~ Players who like a real racing feel might not care about these things, but as a casual player, I was really brought to tears by how ugly it is, sob sob sob. If the interface could be optimized to be a bit cuter in the future, maybe I would give it another try? Forget it, I just beg the developers to consider the aesthetic of us female players 🙏
