You guys who spend so much money on games, have you all forgotten what games are supposed to be like? As for me, I'm disgusted to the point of vomiting by all the 'first top-up 6 yuan,' 'monthly card 68,' '648 gift package' stuff. The whole 'you can play without spending money' is a joke—once you enter, it's VIP-only channels, auto-battle skip tickets, and if your stamina is insufficient, you use diamonds to make up. After this whole combo, if you don't spend money, you're basically a loser.
The one I want to talk about today is called 'Ultraman Legend Heroes 2.' To be honest, I was a bit surprised when I clicked in.
Don't rush to argue yet, I know what you're going to say, 'It's another cash-grab of a feel-good story, right?' But I checked, and this thing is actually officially licensed by Tsuburaya, with personal supervision! It's not the kind where they just take a suit actor for a poster and turn it into some stitched-up mess. The Ultraman skills and moves inside really have that flavor, like the Spacium Ray from the original Ultraman, Taro's Storium Ray—when I saw them, I almost stood up shouting 'Diga!' Do you understand that feeling when a long-time tokusatsu fan hits those nostalgic spots?
Development is by Hefei Letang. Some brothers might say this is a mobile game company. That's right, they do make mobile games, but the charging model is clearly stated as 0, 0, brothers!
Think about it, among all those games on the market that carry the 'Ultraman' name, which one doesn't start by giving a 'first recharge bonus of Zero'? This game is different; it relies on authenticity and the impact of attacks. Fighting monsters in a team means you perform the moves yourself, not watch them auto-battle while VIP8 deals 999999 damage with one hit.
There's one more thing that I really hate: nowadays, if a mobile game doesn't have a guild, it feels awkward to even call it a mobile game. Things like mandatory group joining, fighting in guild battles at exactly 8 PM, and being kicked out if you don't participate make it feel like clocking in for work. I want a game where I can play comfortably as a solo player. A solitary warrior is the true warrior. Becoming the light on your own, you see?
Of course, it's not exaggerated to the extreme either. After all, it's a mobile game, and over a long period of operation there will inevitably be various types of guides, but from my current experience playing it, at least it prioritizes 'faithfulness to the original' over 'making money.' For us old folks who grew up watching 'Ultraman,' this is truly rare.
If you're tired of that bottomless gacha of 'there's no strongest, only stronger,' you can really try a change of pace, come here to be a savior who doesn't need to worry about looks or full participation in battles, and regain the thrill of 'I play the game' instead of 'the game plays me.'
Just like that, believe it or not, anyway I believe it. 😎
