I was super excited when I downloaded it on the first day. I went in and chose the brightest skin, feeling like I was the coolest guy in the game! But right at the start, I charged straight into a crowd, and before I even realized it, I got smashed into a bunch of lights and disappeared 😭 Later I learned that beginners should never join the crowd in the middle; that's the territory of the pros!
The second pitfall is the snake's turning mechanism. At first, I thought it was like a mobile phone gyroscope, but it turned out to be swipe on the touchscreen. If my hand shakes, the snake's head veers off, and it often ends up circling itself to death... Seeing others move so smoothly, I can't even draw an S-shape neatly, it's so frustrating 🙈 Later, I asked veteran players in the clan and learned that you need to release a little earlier when turning, don't hold down the screen and swipe wildly.
And also that speed boost button! I thought it was for rushing forward, but when I accelerated, I couldn't stop, my snake's body shortened, and I ended up crashing right into a longer snake's head, delivering it as a gift 🥲 It turns out the speed boost is meant for flanking or dodging abilities, so as a newbie like me, I should just move slowly and steadily.
Also, I need to complain a bit about that biohazard mode. I went in thinking I would be fighting zombies, but it turned out I became a big snake chasing other small snakes? I finally managed to make a circle, and then suddenly I became the one being chased the whole time, my fingers panicking and clashing. After finishing, I realized I had ruined it for my teammates... Sorry teammates, next time I will definitely read the game instructions before joining 😂
But honestly, this game is really fun. With matches lasting three minutes each, it's especially suitable for someone like me who can't sit still. Now I hide in corners to grow at the start and sneakily collect the light points that others drop when they fight, haha, I can already survive until the mid-game! Although I still get fancy-showed by the top players often, every small bit of progress makes me really happy 😆
If there are beginners like me, remember the lesson I learned the hard way: don't crowd the middle at the start, don't turn too sharply, control your speed, and always read the mode instructions! Also, thanks to the experts on the forum who replied to my questions before, you guys are really super nice. I'll practice a bit more and come to have a friendly match with you (actually, just coming to give away points) hehe~
