Hi everyone, I'm Xiaomei. This is my first time posting in the Guess Guess Entertainment section, and I'm a bit nervous~
Today I want to talk about "Royal Souls: Strategy Edition." I usually only like playing relaxing games like pet care, dress-up, and farming, and I basically don't touch fighting games. But my friend insisted on pulling me into playing this one, saying it's a brand-new alliance sandbox war mobile game, with a huge free sandbox map, and you can lead heroes to freely mix and match lineups and skills, build an epic army, master strategies, change the battlefield with tactical buildings, and help you become the ruler of the king's city. It also features unique alliance campaign dungeons. It really sounds impressive, and the platform it runs on is 5.0. The developer is Tianqing Interactive Entertainment Co., Ltd. in Fujian Province, and the charging model is 0, meaning it's free. So I thought, why not give it a try?
When I opened the results, I was completely stunned 😭
That main interface really... feels so dated. The color scheme looks like someone just mixed mustard yellow and dark red together, the buttons are all crammed in, and the text is tiny. It took me forever to find the alliance entrance. The sandbox map is huge, but it's all gray and dull, and the hero portraits aren't in the cute style I like—they have that very serious, war-focused vibe. The building and skill icons are hard to distinguish too. As a casual player, I'd really get lost, boohoo.
What I want to complain about the most is the Alliance Campaign interface. As soon as you enter, the screen is full of red dots and arrows, like looking at homework that you can't understand at all. Although I know it's a strategy game, where you have to arrange troops and conquer cities, can't the interface be a little cleaner? My friend even laughed at me and said, 'This is a war game, not a farming game.' But the maps in farming games are also very clear and soothing—why does fighting have to look so hardcore and ugly?
But then again, it's free, and there seem to be quite a few strategy combinations. For those siblings who like alliance sandboxes and hero lineups, it might be worth tolerating the interface to give it a try. However, if you're a casual player like me who feels uncomfortable seeing an ugly interface, you might want to be cautious. Right now, I'm both disliking it and helping a friend click on buildings at the same time, feeling very conflicted 😵💫
Has anyone else played this, friends? Do you think this interface will look better later? Or am I the only one who thinks it's too ugly? I'm looking for some comfort, and also for recommendations for casual games with nicer interfaces. I really need a bit of healing.
