Hello to all friends in the film and TV section. Today I'm hopping over to another section to talk about a mobile game related to "city blockbusters." EA Mobile's SimCity: BuildIt, in Chinese titled 《模拟城市:我是市长》, is essentially the Chinese version of SimCity BuildIt. It's not a new game, but it has impressive global download numbers. With 3D graphics, coastal beaches, airports, and landmarks from Tokyo and Paris, it still stands out among similar games. For an overall rating, I'd give it 7.5/10. Below, I'll discuss it in terms of graphics, gameplay, monetization, and social features, and also compare it with a few similar games.
For the visuals, I would give it 8 points. It has a true 3D perspective, buildings scale with the camera zoom, and the changes between day and night, coastline, and the cross-regional landscape of the airport are all done quite comfortably. Compared to the 'City Island' series, its city texture feels more modern, and the building proportions are more like a real city; compared to 'The Sims FreePlay,' it leans more towards urban planning and macro layout, rather than controlling little characters in daily life. The downside is that when there are a lot of buildings in the later stages, the phone can heat up and loading speeds can become a bit strained.
I would give the gameplay a 7.5 out of 10. The core is still the usual routine: build residential areas, provide services, develop factories, run businesses, and balance electricity, water, pollution, traffic, fire, police, education, and entertainment. Compared to 'City Island' and 'Megapolis,' its construction chain is clearer, and landmark collection and the airstrip system feel more purposeful. The advantage is that early-stage planning feedback is very satisfying, and expanding the city bit by bit gives a sense of accomplishment; the downside is that later on, warehouses become a bottleneck, material waiting times are long, land expansion is slow, and it's easy to go from being a 'mayor' to a 'warehouse manager'.
Regarding spending money, 6.5 out of 10. The game is free to download, but there are plenty of in-app purchases. You'll encounter them when speeding up construction, buying SimCash, opening boxes, or in mayor competitions. Compared to 'Cartoon Farm,' its monetization points appear earlier; compared to many purely pay-to-win SLGs, it's not that extreme. You can play without spending any money, but you have to accept a slower pace. If you want to level up quickly or build landmarks fast, the financial pressure increases.
I give social a score of 7. There is a Mayor's Club, trading, and mayor competitions.
