Hello everyone, I'm a newbie looking for guidance. I've just started playing mobile games, don't know much but love trying everything. Recently, a pro recommended ‘King of Glory: Don't Be Arrogant' to me. I saw that it's a 5V5 team-based fair competition, recreates the classic MOBA experience, and you can play with friends to rank up. It's free, runs on platform 5.0, and is developed by Shenzhen Dayang Network Technology Co., Ltd. I immediately downloaded it. In the end, I didn't improve my skills, but I did make a lot of mistakes. I'm here to chat with my fellow newbie brothers and sisters—don't make the same mistakes I did 😂
The first pitfall was that I thought since it was free, I could play however I wanted. I went in and saw many heroes, picking whichever looked cool. I didn't read the skill descriptions or know the equipment. In the first match, I rushed straight into the jungle, got chased and attacked by monsters, and my teammates were frantically signaling. I even thought they were praising my bravery 😅
The second pitfall is that I have no idea how to read the mini-map. I don't dare to go to the dark areas on the map, and as a result, an enemy assassin came out of the bushes, and my screen went gray instantly. I later realized that you need to check the mini-map frequently; if your teammates signal to retreat, you have to run, otherwise you'll just feed.
The third mistake was that I forgot to buy gear. I had saved up gold but was still wearing the starting equipment, hitting people felt like scraping, while getting hit by others felt like being chopped. It was only in my third game that I understood the importance of going back to buy gear, really embarrassing.
The fourth pitfall is starting ranked too early. I thought I was ready, so as soon as I reached the level, I rushed into ranked, but ended up losing five games in a row and almost threw my phone. Now I've learned my lesson, and I first practice several heroes in casual matches to find my main before moving on.
The fifth pitfall: not speaking or communicating. My friend invited me to play together, but I kept my mic off the whole time. I was still clearing minions even after the team fight was over. When teammates called to gather, I didn't hear them. In the end, the whole team was wiped out, and my friend said they wouldn't bring me along next time. I cried on the spot 😭
But after going through these pitfalls, I still think that 'Honor of Kings: Don't Be Arrogant' is pretty good. Fair competition doesn't force you to spend money, and the creative battles are also interesting. Winning or losing depends more on teamwork and skill. Now I can team up with friends to rank up, and although I'm still far from the top 'King,' every game has something new to enjoy. Thanks to the veteran who recommended this game to me before, really, thank you 🙏
Are there any friends who just started playing as well, want to team up and prepare for a group battle together? Also looking for a team that doesn't mind newbies, I will try my best to learn to read the map, buy equipment, and not feed recklessly! 😭
