Hello everyone, I'm a newbie seeking guidance. I don't usually play mobile games much, but recently I was browsing posts on Qitan Dimension and saw someone talk about LeYou Block Elimination, saying it's a classic childhood single-player game and it's free. So I downloaded it. As a result, once I started playing, I couldn't really stop, and I'm here to share some of the funny mistakes I made as a beginner.
As soon as I started, I first chose the drop mode, thinking, it's just Tetris, who can't play it. The first few levels were fine, but later when the blocks fell faster, I got flustered, placed a long piece vertically in the middle, leaving big gaps on both sides. The next piece was also a long one, and while I was still figuring out how to rotate it, the blocks had already piled up to the top. At that moment, I stared at the screen and felt like I was being schooled by a childhood game 😂
Then I tried the push-up mode, and it really confused me. The blocks don't fall down; they are pushed up from the bottom. My first reaction was to wait for them to fall, but instead, they pushed up the blocks I had stacked below, blocking the path, and the game ended in just a few moves. Later, I gradually understood that you have to plan in reverse, leaving space below as much as possible, instead of just focusing on the top like in regular Tetris. I think this mode is quite fresh, but also pretty brain-burning.
There are also a few small gameplay features. At first, I randomly bounced the dancing marbles, but later I realized that the angle is very important; hitting from the side can clear a whole row at once. The rhythm bricks have five modes. When I played the standard brick-breaking game, I froze when the white block appeared and didn't tap it, and after that, the rhythm went completely off, which made me slap my thigh in frustration, but I couldn't help starting another round in the next game. The pet star-matching game is more relaxing, and I felt sleepy while playing it. The pet matching levels are numerous—over a thousand levels—and after about twenty levels, my eyes felt strained. But each time I got close to winning and almost gave up, I felt unwilling and wanted to play one more round.
As a beginner, I've summarized a few small tips. In regular Tetris, don't just clear one line at a time; try to keep the long pieces if you can, because clearing four lines at once gives a much more satisfying score. In push-up mode, always look at the next piece first and don't rush to push everything up; keeping space at the bottom is very important. In continuous clearing, start from the edges and don't randomly click in the middle. In pinball, make good use of wall bounces, and when hitting bricks, prioritize the white blocks, otherwise it's easy to miss them.
I think the advantages are that it's free, can be played offline, has many modes, and is suitable for someone like me who plays for short periods of fragmented time. The platform requirement says 5.0, and it still works fine on my old phone without lagging too much. There are also disadvantages: sometimes there are so many modes that I can't decide which one to play, playing for a long time makes my eyes tired, and some levels are a bit repetitive. But it's free, and the developer is Shenzhen Le Game Technology Co., Ltd., which is already very friendly to beginners like me.
If there are any pros playing this, please take me along, please, please. How do you get high scores in push-up mode? Every time I end up pushing myself out 😭
