Family, can anyone understand this 😭 Recently, I've been utterly frustrated by a certain martial arts swordsman mobile game. When the server launched, the promotion was amazing, but after playing for two days, wow, the screen is full of recharge options. Weapons require spending, clothes require spending, even the chat box color requires spending. Enhancing from +7 to +8, if you fail three times, it drops straight back to +5, and protection talismans have to be drawn. PvP is even crazier: you get matched with spenders, they can kill me with one strike, and when I attack them, their health bar barely moves. This isn't martial arts, this is wallet assassination 😅
Then I wanted to find a martial arts game that doesn't pressure you to spend money to relax a bit. Browsing forums, I saw someone mentioning Zhanxianyou. At first, I didn't have much hope, after all, it says the payment model is 0, and everyone knows what 'free-to-play' mobile games are really like nowadays. But then I downloaded it on the 150 platform, played for two days, and it was really great.
The core of this game is swiping. You play as a swordsman, and the enemies are also various swordsmen. You swipe on the enemies for normal attacks. When the enemies are about to strike you, the blade glow changes color, and you have to swipe in the corresponding direction to block. Successfully blocking will deflect the blade, and after deflecting, the opponent is momentarily stiff, at which point you swipe back to attack. It feels pretty satisfying. It's kind of like a simplified version of Fruit Ninja mixed with Sekiro? Anyway, I can't stop swiping when I play it secretly in class.
You can enchant your weapons during battle, which is pretty interesting. Ice can slow down enemies, fire deals continuous burning damage, and lightning can chain to paralyze. I usually use ice first to control them, then switch to fire to burn, and finish with lightning. When fighting a boss, don't be greedy with attacks; when it glows red to charge, get ready to block. After a parry, you can only swing three times at most, more than that will get you counterattacked. Tip: Don't use enchantment energy as soon as you have it; save it for the boss's berserk phase, ice can be a lifesaver.
The developer is Qingdao Dingshang Tianji Cultural Media Co., Ltd. To be honest, I hadn't heard of them before, but there are indeed no charge prompts in the game. There are no stamina limits, no VIP levels, and no first-time purchase packages. I played for three days and collected some materials by watching ads, but the ads are optional; you can play without watching them. The graphics aren't top-notch, and later enemies are a bit repetitive, but with zero charges, what more could you ask for? Forever legendary.
If you've also been hurt by those pay-to-win mobile games, you can try Zhan Xian You. Don't treat it as a hardcore game, just play it as a casual swipe-to-relieve-stress game, it's really pretty engaging. I now swipe through a couple of rounds every night before bed, which is more enjoyable than scrolling short videos. 666, recommend it to everyone.
